Error when configuring ODBC logging on MS-Proxy Server.

Information in this article applies to:

- All versions of inGOT
- Microsoft NT 4.0
- Microsoft Proxy Server
- Microsoft Access or Microsoft SQL Database Logging

SYMPTOMS

When attempting set up MS-Proxy logging to a new ODBC service the following error message occurs: "ODBC Error - The Data Source Name (DSN) may be incorrect".

CAUSE

This bug was introduced by Service Pack 4 for Windows NT. Please see the Microsoft web site for further details at:

RESOLUTION

1. Stop inGOT
2. Apply a Service Pack for Windows NT above SP4. (We recommend SP6a)
3. Apply (or re-apply) Service Pack 21for Microsoft Proxy Server
4. Re-start Windows (as per the Service Pack requirement)
5. Configure MS-Proxy ODBC logging.
4. Restart inGOT.
